- PPC in Islington South & Finsbury 2005 and 2010, winning a record high vote each time
- Eight years as an Islington councillor, six as Deputy Leader
- Previously PPC in Hampstead & Highgate (1997) and East Ham (2001)
- Won a National Transport Award 2006 for her green transport campaigning
- Nominated as Internet Hero of the Year (ISPA)2010 for changing party policy on the Digital Economy Bill
- Nominated for a Liberal Democrat Campaigns department ‘Oscar’ for recruiting new activists
- Led successful campaigns, including saving a local post office, getting improvements to rail stations, securing a new pedestrian crossing at the Angel, and creating a new park
- Has campaigned across London in elections and by-elections over 20 years in virtually every borough
Bridget has a track record of over 25 years campaigning in the party. She has stood in council elections and by-elections, held local and regional party office, and been a leading councillor and a vote-winning PPC. Bridget knows what campaigning means to local parties at every stage of their development and in different parts of London.
In the last two general elections as PPC in Islington South & Finsbury, Bridget achieved record numbers of votes for the party and was nominated for a Campaigns Department ‘Oscar’ for recruiting new and outside helpers to the cause. She has run successful single-issue campaigns ranging from saving her local post office and securing a major new pedestrian crossing at the Angel, to changing party policy on the Digital Economy Bill.
Since the election, she has been active in the London ‘Take Back Parliament’ (pro AV) campaign.
